Also check the policy on performance appraisals and what management considers to be quality traits of a top performer. Request that the Sales Manager allow you to be a part of a sales meeting or watch a sale being conducted by an experienced salesperson. These are of immense benefit to help you understand what you actually need to do in the routine course of your job as an auto salesperson.
Learn About The Product
After landing the job, you need to be thorough with the intricate details of the product(s) that you will be selling. So get acquainted by observation, ask the right questions and read all available information on the products. One good way to do this is to go through the brochures. Take them home and go through them in detail. Remember that your job is to sell and this requires specific selling skills and thorough product knowledge. Your pitch has to be convincing and interesting enough to excite the customer to buy the product. Your product is technology oriented, but you should use specific jargon only if the customer is tech savvy.
Though your early earnings in auto sales may not be up to your expectations, with time, persistence and as your knowledge grows, you will be able to earn very large commissions.
